You've built your knowledge of drivers and strategies, predicting race outcomes like a seasoned expert. But now, you're craving something more — a way to put your F1 expertise to the test and win real rewards. Yet, frustratingly, no platform has offered that perfect blend of excitement and competition. It feels like the ultimate F1 fantasy experience just doesn't exist — until now.
One day, while casually browsing through the app store, you stumble upon an F1 Fantasy app that promises something different. Intrigued, you decide to give it a shot. Little did you know, this spontaneous decision would change the way you experience Formula 1 forever. As you explore the app, you find a world of possibilities — from joining thrilling contests to winning real money prizes. What started as a simple download soon turns into a game-changer, allowing you to fuel your passion, compete with confidence, and get rewarded for your F1 expertise.

Primary Business Goal
The primary business goal of the project is to build and enhance the overall F1 fantasy sports experience on the GridMaster platform from scratch. This includes developing an efficient process for users to join contests, manage their teams, and compete for real prizes. The goal is to minimise the time it takes for users to get started and participate, while increasing overall user satisfaction and trust in the platform. The aim is to create a seamless, engaging, and user-friendly experience that attracts more F1 enthusiasts to showcase their expertise and win rewards on GridMaster.
Knowing the Industry
I realised the importance of understanding the fantasy sports market to gain deeper insights into the problem statement. What I discovered was truly remarkable. The global fantasy sports market is projected to grow at a rapid pace, with the fantasy sports industry in India seeing a staggering CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 32% over the next few years. According to a report by KPMG, the fantasy sports market in India is expected to reach $5 billion by 2025. With millions of sports fans actively participating in fantasy leagues, it's clear that there's a growing demand for immersive fantasy experiences.
The fantasy sports industry has taken centre stage in India's digital gaming ecosystem. In the past year alone, the number of fantasy sports players has surged to over 130 million users (Source: FIFS). Just a few years ago, fantasy sports were niche, with limited player engagement. Today, the landscape has shifted dramatically, with users becoming more involved in fantasy sports across various platforms.
In 2016, India had approximately 2 million fantasy sports players. Fast forward to 2022, and that number has skyrocketed to over 100 million. This surge is accompanied by a significant shift in consumer behavior, as users are now more interested in skill-based contests where they can win real money prizes. This shift indicates a growing preference for fantasy sports platforms like GridMaster, which offer a competitive edge and real rewards, making it the go-to choice for F1 enthusiasts looking to join exciting contests and win big.
Talking to the Users
With some initial insights and assumptions in place, I decided to engage directly with a few users who are passionate about F1 and eager for new ways to engage with the sport. Since there is currently no fantasy app specifically for F1-themed contests, I outlined key tasks I wanted the users to perform on GridMaster and prepared questions to gain a deeper understanding of their expectations and needs. The age demographic for user testing was between 25 and 30 years old, focusing on individuals who are active in the fantasy sports space.
Due to time constraints, I was only able to conduct interviews with 3 users, though ideally, I would have preferred to speak with 5 to 8 participants. Fortunately, the 3 individuals I interviewed provided valuable and diverse insights into what they would look for in an F1 fantasy platform like GridMaster.

Outcomes
The smooth execution of two Grand Prix seasons, featuring the creation of numerous contests and the participation of countless teams across 21 to 24 races each, greatly strengthened the client’s business operations. Our platform's efficiency in managing contests and seamlessly distributing winnings boosted user engagement, cementing the client’s reputation as a trusted and user-friendly fantasy gaming hub.
Our solutions enabled the client to scale operations effectively, leveraging the lucrative opportunities in India's Formula 1 market.
